Urn Lamp with Pagoda Shade

Urn lamp, in brushed silver finish, with a white silk pagoda shade. From Restoration Hardware.
Very striking, would be especially great for a Hollywood Regency style room.
Or, you know, whatever.

Garden Table

Garden table, metal painted white and cloudy glass top - the glass is not brown or yellow though like it looks in this picture - that's just weird light. The wall that looks yellowish behind the table is actually bright white. Hole in the center for an umbrella.
40 in. diameter.

Available now.
$10

Library Table - SOLD

Library table, beautiful finish, small drawer on the short side. I've had no where to use it but didn't want to get rid of it, so it has been a laundry and catch-all table in the basement. Still in great shape though, a few scratches that could be touched up, and might fade away with a little polish.

71 x 35.5 x 30.5

SOLD

Barrister's Bookshelves - SOLD

Set of barrister's bookshelves, 3 stackable shelves with glass doors. One of the doors needs a bit of glue - it came lose a day or two ago when I let it slam instead of shutting it gently. D'oh. When you take it apart, it seems flimsy, but they have been sturdy for me - you know I wouldn't keep Wedgwood china, even if it is just the stuff I use everyday, in a shelf I thought might not hold. 34 x 12 x 46.

Eight Chairs - SOLD

Set of eight chairs.
Deep and wide seats, cushioned on seat and back, very comfortable for long hours eating and drinking and talking at the table.

Elegantly curved back and great legs.

I upholstered these with the help of my friend Betty. The fabric was originally my father's curtain. Very Gone With The Wind of us. It's a copper color, with copper, gold, and black squares, and black braid trim.

$250 for the set.
SOLD
Available early October.

Dining Table - SOLD

My dining table.
72 x 42 in., with an extra 18 in. leaf, and 31 in. high (pictured without leaf). Small chip in the leaf. Four legs on the corners, very sturdy.

Fan inlay on the top, very handsome.

Deck Table, Chairs, Tea Cart

Deck table, six chairs, and tea cart. Vintage and wonderful. You see these every so often in the antique markets. but this one is, I don't know how to describe it, better. It just is. And it's a great size for smaller spaces, 54 x 30 in., and 29 and 1/2 in. high.

You can see the tea cart in the corner here next to the sofa. It's darling, glass shelves on top and bottom.

But remember that time I had a smoking hot pan of bacon grease and, in order not to set off the fire alarm, I ran outside on a cold winter night and set it on the table? Yeah. Hot things on freezing cold glass isn't a good combination. The corner where the pan was sitting shattered. See below. Also, the chairs are fine to use but could use some new seats.

That's why the price is low.
$200
Available early October

RH Deck Furniture - SOLD

Restoration Hardware deck furniture, the Carmel line. I have the 51'' sofa and lounge chair, cushions in Sunbrella canvas, I think it's the linen color, and covers. The cover to the chair has a tear in it, but still works fine to keep the chair dry in the rain. New, the sofa, cushions, and cover would cost $1525. The lounge chair, new, with cushions and cover would cost $955. Scroll down to see what a deal you are getting.

51'' sofa, cushions, cover: $350
Lounge chair, cushions, cover: $250
SOLD
Available early October

RH Floor Lamp with Shade - SOLD

Floor lamp, brass (I think "antique" brass finish), from Restoration Hardware, with a RH pleated white silk shade; adjustable height. The lamp has a dimmer switch. I think this might have been a floor sample, so it's possible there is some wear, but nothing I noticed.

Tall Table and Two Stools - SOLD

Table and two stools, perfect for a small eating area or even outside. Light wood, a few of the decorative peg covers on the stool legs are missing.
The table is 32 x 32 x 42 in. The stools are 14 x 13 x 30 in.

Not available to pick up until October, or I get an offer on the house, whichever comes first.

SOLD

Secretary

Secretary, 14 in. deep, 46 in. wide, height: 73 in. to the entablature, 80 in. to the top of pediment. A nice, narrower secretary, goes great in a corner like I have it, or in a hallway or some other place where a deeper piece of furniture would be an obstruction. A little bit of the fluting is missing from the pediment. The glass was replaced before I bought it, and it was thinner than the original and rattled, so I put some shims in the doors. Original key, and the lock works fine.

The top drawer, when opened, slides out to make a writing desk. Inside are a cabinet, two drawers, and some shelves. I store my crystal salad plates in the shelves, and cocktail napkins in the drawers.

Available early October.

$200

Lane Cedar Chest - SOLD

Lane cedar chest, 44 in. long, 19 in. deep, 28 and 1/2 in. tall.

My mother, of sainted memory, like most women, it seems, who went to high school in the seventies, got a little Lane cedar jewelry box when she graduated. I still have it. I was looking for some extra storage, and when I saw this, it reminded me of that box, and I had to get it.

The front looks like three drawers, but only the bottom one is a drawer. The top two are a fake front for the chest accessed by lifting the lid (push that button there, you see it?).

It has the paperwork inside the lid still. I doubt that "$500 Guaranty" against moth damage is still good, but you never know.

Available now.

Gold Pillow, Indian Elephant - SOLD

Gold pillow, from India, with elephant. Some red highlights in the embroidery. 22 in.
Pillow insert is from Pottery Barn, and included. So you're already getting a bargain.

SOLD

Bed, Dresser, Nightstand - SOLD

My bedroom furniture.

Queen size bed. Wood rails. Headboard and footboard have panels, pilasters, and entablature. The panels on the headboard have a little gap at the top (in the picture, you can see light coming through the gaps), which I considered fixing, but I decided it was charming, and they make everyone think the bed is antique. In good shape, other than one odd white mark on the entablature of the head board, easily fixed if you're the type. Mattress and box springs not included.

Dresser is enormous. 57 in. long, 23 and 1/4 in. wide/deep, and 42 in. high. Pilasters on the front side and entablature style top to match bed.

Two drawers on the top, and one long drawer in the middle and on the bottom. The wood is cracked on the front of one of the drawers, but again, instead of looking damaged, it looks like an antique. Win!

I have some other furniture in my bedroom I am keeping, an art deco highboy, a Duncan Phyfe style sideboard, and a small chest of drawers. Everything that fits in them used to fit in this dresser, and there is still another drawer full of sweaters. Even if you didn't use this in a bedroom, it would be great anywhere you need to put things away and could use the top for display space. If I had a big kitchen, I might would put it in there - you could even keep small appliances in the drawers.

There's a nightstand to match, with the same styling as the other two pieces. Again, lots of storage space - I have it in a walk-in closet and use it to store linens.

One drawer at the top, and a cabinet below.

$600 for the set.
Not available for pick up until October 15th.
SOLD

Pair of Custom Bookcases - SOLD

Pair of custom bookcases. One pictured here, the other is identical. Solid and heavy, these shelves won't bend under the weight of a lot of books. 85 and 1/2 in. high, 23 and 5/8 in. wide, 11 in. deep.

Available now.

$100 for the pair.

Brown Leather Chair - SOLD

Brown leather chair with nailhead trim. Curved back. Very handsome.

I will never admit what I paid for this chair. Never.
But you can have it for ::gulp:: $150. That hurts.
SOLD

Barrel Chair, w/ Caning - SOLD

My trusty desk chair, with caning on the back and sides. So comfortable, and deep, so I have a throw pillow in it (the pillow is yours if you want it). In desperate need of new upholstery, but it would be easy to do. The caning is perfect, tight and unbroken.

Pair of Brass Jardinières - SOLD

A pair of brass orientalist jardinières, with handles. 12 in. diameter, 12 in. high.

Incredibly useful. You better believe you get the plants in these two, too, and the stand that one of them sits on.

Available early October.

Side Tables (match sofa table)

A pair of side tables, neoclassical style with fan inlay, neoclassical swags, fluting, and other motifs on the sides and legs.

A nice size, about 28 in. diameter, 23 in. high, perfect for older or lower sofas and chairs. Lots of surface space.

One of the tables has a chip in the veneer, not very noticeable, could be touched up by the skillful with a little stain.

Available early October.

$300

Sofa Table (matches side tables)

Sofa table, 47 in. long, 16.5 in. wide at the midpoint, 29 in. high. A useful size - perfect for behind a sofa or along a wall, but not too bulky or too wide, so no sharp corners jutting out where people would be walking.

Fan inlay; neoclassical styling on the sides and on the legs.

In good shape, one leg a little loose. The finish is still in great shape - that white spot in the picture is a reflection. I've had this since 1999, and if it comes to California with me, too, so be it.

Available early October.

$100

Bergère, caning, gold upholstery

Neoclassical revival bergère, wood in a medium stain, with perfect caning on the sides - not broken or loose. Upholstered in a durable light golden fabric. The seat is deep, and the cushions are firm. A very comfortable chair.

Do y'all remember Norbert, my golden lab mutt from Wayside Waifs? Norbert loved this chair so much he tried to eat it.

Witness the finial on the arm, chewed.

Not terrible, and could easily be repaired; or with a little sanding and some stain, it wouldn't be too noticeable.

I really like this chair, but it's too large for a smaller apartment or condo.
PS - technically, a bergère's enclosed arms are upholstered, but I'm considering the caning as a type of upholstery, plus bergère is such a fun word!
PPS - Norbert now lives, very happily, in Overland Park.

Available early October.

$150, super low, because of the chewing.
